Monopoly Go Links Not Working

You tapped the link. The app opened. No dice. Here is what actually went wrong and exactly how to fix it.

Try Fresh Links First

Monopoly Go links expire fast - often within hours. Today's links are far more likely to work than anything older.

Today's Dice Links

Quick Diagnosis

Before going through every fix below, answer two questions. First: are you at Level 15 or above with your sticker album unlocked? If not, links will not work regardless of which link you try or how fresh it is. Keep playing until you hit Level 15. Second: how old is the link? If it is more than 12-24 hours old, expiration is almost certainly the cause.

If you are Level 15+ and the link is fresh, work through the causes below in order. Most link failures for qualifying players are caused by expiration, app version issues, or connection problems - all of which have straightforward fixes.

Every Reason Links Fail (and How to Fix Each One)

You Have Not Reached Level 15 Yet

Very Common (new players)

What happened:

This is the most common reason links fail for new players and the one that is most often overlooked. Monopoly Go reward links require you to have unlocked your sticker album, which happens at Level 15. Before that point, tapping a link will open the app but no dice will be credited. The game does not always show a clear error explaining why - it just silently does nothing.

The fix:

Keep playing normally until you reach Level 15 and unlock your sticker album. Once unlocked, reward links will work immediately. You do not need to do anything special - just reach the level requirement and links function automatically from that point forward.

The Link Has Expired

Very Common

What happened:

Monopoly Go links expire significantly faster than most mobile game reward links - sometimes within a few hours of being posted. Scopely does not publish consistent expiration windows, but links that were valid in the morning are often dead by evening. If a link is more than 12-24 hours old, expiration is the likely cause.

The fix:

There is no way to revive an expired link. Claim links the moment you see them rather than saving them for later. Check the daily links page as early in the day as possible and again in the evening to catch newly posted links before they expire.

Try Today's Fresh Links

You Already Claimed It

Common

What happened:

Each Monopoly Go reward link is one-use per account. If you tapped it earlier and forgot, tapping it again will do nothing. The app does not always show a clear already-claimed error. Sometimes it opens normally and silently delivers nothing, making it look like the link is broken when it already worked.

The fix:

Check your dice count against what it was before tapping the link. If it increased, you already received the reward. Going forward, claim links immediately when you see them so there is no ambiguity about whether you already received the dice.

Your App Needs Updating

Common

What happened:

Scopely pushes frequent updates, and Monopoly Go in particular updates more aggressively than many mobile games due to its live events infrastructure. An outdated app version may not correctly process newer reward link formats. The app does not always prompt you when an update is available.

The fix:

Go to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android), search for Monopoly Go, and tap Update if available. Let the update complete fully before trying the link again. Enabling auto-updates prevents this issue from recurring.

Opening the Link on the Wrong Device

Moderate

What happened:

Monopoly Go is a mobile-only game - there is no desktop or Facebook version. If you click a dice link in a desktop browser, the link cannot open the app and no dice are delivered. This is one of the most common issues for players who discover links on a computer while playing on their phone.

The fix:

Always open reward links on the mobile device where Monopoly Go is installed. If you find a link on a computer, copy the URL and send it to your phone via text or email, then open it from there. The link should launch the app directly if it is installed.

Connection Issues During Redemption

Moderate

What happened:

Reward links require a stable connection to verify your account and deliver the dice. If the connection drops at the moment of processing, the delivery can fail. In some cases the link registers as used server-side without the dice arriving in your account.

The fix:

Switch between WiFi and mobile data and try a fresh link. If a link shows as already claimed but you received no dice, close the app completely, wait 30 seconds, and reopen it. Dice credits sometimes arrive after the next app sync.

Cache or Storage Problems

Less Common

What happened:

Corrupted cache data can interfere with how Monopoly Go processes reward links. More common on Android than iOS. Symptoms include the app opening but stalling, links opening a blank screen, or the reward animation playing but no dice being added.

The fix:

On Android, go to Settings > Apps > Monopoly Go > Storage > Clear Cache. Do not tap Clear Data unless your account is saved server-side (which it is for all linked accounts). On iOS, deleting and reinstalling the app is the equivalent step - confirm your account is saved before doing so.

The Last Resort: Reinstall

Last Resort

What happened:

If every other fix has failed and fresh links consistently produce nothing on your device, the installation itself may be corrupted. This is uncommon but possible after an interrupted update or storage-full installation.

The fix:

Confirm your Monopoly Go account is linked to Facebook, Google Play Games (Android), or Apple Game Center (iOS) so your progress and dice balance are preserved. Then delete the app, restart your device, reinstall from the app store, and log back in. Test a reward link after the full reinstall.

If None of That Worked

You are Level 15+, using fresh links, have the latest app version, and still getting nothing. At that point, contact Scopely support directly. Go to the in-game Menu, then Support or Help. Include your player ID, the specific link that failed, your device model and operating system, and what happened when you tapped the link. Specific bug reports get faster responses than generic "links don't work" messages.

While waiting for a response, your passive dice sources continue working independently of link issues. The free dice guide covers all earning methods - the 8-hour shop gift and auto-regeneration are unaffected by whatever is causing link failures.

Prevent Future Link Problems

Claim Links Immediately

Monopoly Go links expire faster than almost any other mobile game. Do not save links for later. If you see one, tap it immediately. A link that is alive now may be dead in 4 hours.

Follow Official Channels

Follow Scopely on YouTube community posts and Discord for the fastest link notifications. These channels post links first and often before other aggregators pick them up.

Keep the App Updated

Enable auto-updates for Monopoly Go. Scopely updates the game frequently and an outdated version is one of the most preventable causes of link processing failures.

Always Tap Links on Mobile

Monopoly Go has no desktop version. Links opened in a computer browser cannot reach the app. Find links on desktop? Send the URL to your phone and open it there.
